June 24, 2017 - August 14, 2017

112 Seventh Street, Kampala, Uganda

A conceptual drawing workshop and exhibition mentored by Henry Mzili Mujunga

Using drawing skills to create art in a more experimental way, selected artists experimented with the proper application of the elements of art such as line, tone, and texture while placing emphasis on Simplicity, Variety, and Clarity. They explored media, techniques, and style with the purpose of expressing what they felt about current issues obtaining in their daily existence.

The artists carried out an inquiry into the processes involved in choosing surfaces that are outside their comfort zones and working on formats that are larger than those they are used to. They overcame challenges of enlargement ensuring that little was lost in translation from their original drawings to the final drafts.

Participating artists: Arim Andrew, Ocom Adonias, Farid Mahfudh, Piloya Irene, Sekubulwa John Baptist, Magala Brian Kiwanuka, Kyakonye Allan, Neema Iyer, Migadde Adrian, Leonard Opondo
